Kara,

As always, I love these Weekend Links! I always find a couple of new blogs and some great posts to check out. I know you read my blog from time to time, and I’d love it if you’d check out my post from Thurs. on Developing an Attitude of Gratitude. This is definitely something I struggle with, and I hope others will find it useful too! http://www.thepickyapple.com/blog/2010/05/27/developing-an-attitude-of-gratitude/

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

I love the link love posts—they’re like literary buffets.

I’ve been writing a little about kids and grief—my kids’ friends’ father is dying of a brain tumor. It’s a strange journey, this dying thing, beautiful and tragic. More posts will be coming, but it’s slow-going as they’re hard to write.

Thanks so much for the link to my ZFH post, Kara — I had that toy snake bookmarked too. So adorable!

Great links as always. I love the “summer camp at home” idea. Coming from Australia, summer camp is not such a big idea. But here in Canada I am already feeling the pressure to “book them into something for summer”. My kids are 5, 3 and 1. I don’t feel the need to ship them off to someone else for summer. But I do like the idea of getting together with others. Last year I organised a weekly park meet for the little ones. We just had a regular meet time and day, and I selected a different park/playground for each week. Some weeks only one other family turned up. Some weeks there were heaps of us. It was a great way to ensure I got the kids out of the house and got to see some of our friends that we would usually see at preschool.
