The following is by editor Kara Fleck.
April is going to be a neat month at Simple Kids, if I do say so myself. Among other things, we’re discussing creating kid-friendly spaces within the home and some organizing techniques for those spaces, too.
We’ve also got some fun guest posts coming up and some giveaways that I think you guys are going to really enjoy, as well. I’ve even been recording some vlogs to share so that you guys can see some of our kids’ spaces and organizing systems for them in action!
April Treasures From the Archives
Before we dive into another month, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the archives and unearth a few treasures for the month of April …
Egg Carton Crafts
- Book Review: Hunwick’s Egg – An Australian Easter Tale by Catherine Way
- Dear Peter Rabbit by Amy Anderson
- It’s an Eco Date! Earth Friendly Days to Mark on Your Calendar
- Simple Spring Celebrations guest post by Eileen Straiton (note: 2011’s Pink Full Moon is April 17th)
And, of course, today is April 1st, which means it is April Fool’s Day. Are you and your kids playing any tricks today? I especially liked these fun food ideas that reader Tanya left on our facebook page:
” …the “poached egg” trick~ vanilla yogurt on a plate in a cooked egg shape with an apricot half in the middle. Or the apple fries….apple cut into french fry shapes and coated with cinnamon (or cinnamon sugar depending on your kids) served with strawberry jam Both fun!!”
Feeling silly today? I’ve got a few knock-knock jokes, puns, and tongues twisters to add to the merriment.
Are you and your kids doing any thing for April Fools day today? I’d love it if you’d share in the comments. Happy April, everyone!
