Block Party Giveaway: Little Acorn Learning

Welcome to the Simple Living Media Summer Block Party! We’ve got 20 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win!

This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you for entering!  The winner will be announced July 4.

So, neighbors, are you having a good time at the party so far? Well, stick around because we’ve got more great stuff planned for you!

Little Acorn Learning

I’m  happy to introduce today’s Block Party giveaway sponsor – Little Acorn Learning.  Those who read my personal blog know that my family loves Little Acorn!  We’ve been using their monthly guides for a few years now and they have enriched our days.

Little Acorn Learning is a resource for monthly nature-based guides for childcare providers and parents.

Eileen Straiton, a mother of four, writes the guides and runs the Little Acorn Playgarden from her home.   In addition, Eileen writes a wonderful  blog where you can see the guides “in action” at her home childcare.

The plans are all written out for you – all you have to do is pick and choose the activities you want to incorporate into your days and then follow along with the guide.

The monthly themes contain circle time ideas,  crafts, book recommendations, story time prop ideas, blackboard drawing ideas, recipes, stories, fingerplays, and more.

Eileen even provides lists of the supplies you’ll need to help you prepare for each week.

The Daily Guide gives caregivers a sample daily rhythm intended to be used along with the monthly theme.  This guide takes you through:

Morning Blessing

Circle Time

Morning Talk

Weekly Story with Puppet & Prop Ideas

Daily Activity

Nature Walk

Outdoor Play

Rest Time

Evening Routines

Bedtime Story and Blessing

favorite part of the day … with my 4-year-old, reading books and talking about them. with my 2-year-old, snuggling when he’s still sleepy after his nap 🙂

  7. My favorite part of the day is when we find that moment to look into each other’s eyes and connect without using words. I always want them to know that I love them & are proud of them, just by the look in my eyes.

  15. I have two. The best time for ME is when I go in to get my little boy in the morning. After he is changed we snuggle under a blanket on the couch while he has his morning milk. The best time I love to see is when my husband gets home from work and my little boy is running around the living room giggling as his papa plays with him!!

  16. My favorite part of the day is the morning time when they still have sleepy eyes and really big smiles…..there’s no telling what will happen that day!

  18. My favorite part of the day is in the morning. My daughter is so awake and ready to learn in the morning. She smiles all morning long and seeing her smile is one of the best moments of my life. It makes it all worth it later in the day when some things just can’t go right.

  19. My favorite part of the day? Mornings because both my littles are well rested, happy and anxious to see what adventures the day will hold. I also like the end part; PJ’s little bodies snuggling in bed as we read our story, say our prayers and have sleepy kisses.

  20. and I of course subscribe to Simple Kids; how could I not?!?
