Block Party Giveaway: Mama Goes Green – LunchBots and LunchSkins

Welcome to the Simple Living Media Summer Block Party! We’ve got 20 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win!

This giveaway is now closed.  The Winner will be announced on July 4th!  Thanks to everyone who entered.

We are celebrating this sizzling season with some hot giveaways! Our friend and virtual neighbor Mama Goes Green is kicking off the block party by giving Simple Kids readers a chance to win a wonderful gift package.

If you’ve been reading Simple Kids for a while then you know that we are big fans of eco-friendly lunch containers. My family has been using LunchBots stainless steel reusable containers and Lunchskins reusable bags as an alternative to plastic.

These containers have been traveling with us on family outings, long car trips, and, of course, in our lunchboxes.

I appreciate that they are dishwasher safe (top rack), are healthier than using plastic containers for food storage, and that I don’t have to spend money buying plastic baggies or lunch containers.

They are stylish, with a simple design that appeals to grown-ups as well as kids. The lids of the LunchBots are bright and colorful with a non-VOC finish. The lids fit tightly on the containers, too (though I wouldn’t use them for liquid storage).

The Lunch Skins are made from a German fabric that is certified as food safe in the US and Europe.  They are hand-sewn, well made, durable and bpa, lead, and phthalate free.  I may never buy plastic baggies again!

  1. Stephanie says:

My daughter likes cold (cooked) broccoli and also enjoys edamame. Both would work great in the lunch skins or the lunchbots. Currently, I use waxed parchment bags in place of plastic sandwich bags as much as possible, but they rip kind of easy and they still are disposable. I would love to use the skins and bots for my family. It would be great for the park.

  2. I’m a subscriber in Google reader

  3. My kid is still a baby, so his favorite is baby food. But my husband would love these to take his lunch to work.

  4. I would use these for travel, but their best use at my house would be my husband’s lunch!

  5. I subscribe.

  6. Right now our favorite lunch/snack is hummus on crackers with fruit, but we’re big on using leftovers and trying to keep lunch simple. I’d use this for my daughter’s lunch at preschool and am excited about this giveaway, as I’ve been drooling over these bags and box but haven’t been able to find them in the budget. 🙂

  8. My girlies love little snack lunches…olives, pickled okra, cheese, crackers, cut up veggies, and pickles! Random, but at our house, random works!

    Will this work?

  12. My son has to pack a snack in addition to lunch. While we use a reusable container, I’d love to pack his pretzels/carrots/etc into a reusable cloth bag that would fit inside of his lunch bag.

  13. My hubby is the one that eats the leftovers and takes his own lunch right now, but we improvise and come up with all kinds of things for lunch. Lately my 3 year old has liked chips and cheese and salsa (homemade nachos). My boys will eat anything though!

  15. the sweet one i am making lunches for right now is my hubby! my little ones aren’t in school yet. we like giving him a full meal – salad, veggies with dip, sandwich or piece of leftover meat from the previous dinner and a little fruit. i am moving away from using plastic bags, and it is nice to have safer and reusable containers to pack his food.
