Block Party Giveaway: Mama Goes Green – LunchBots and LunchSkins

[really_simple_share]

Welcome to the Simple Living Media Summer Block Party! We’ve got 20 giveaways across the entire network this week to give you plenty of chances to win!

This giveaway is now closed.  The Winner will be announced on July 4th!  Thanks to everyone who entered.

We are celebrating this sizzling season with some hot giveaways! Our friend and virtual neighbor Mama Goes Green is kicking off the block party by giving Simple Kids readers a chance to win a wonderful gift package.

If you’ve been reading Simple Kids for a while then you know that we are big fans of eco-friendly lunch containers. My family has been using LunchBots stainless steel reusable containers and Lunchskins reusable bags as an alternative to plastic.

These containers have been traveling with us on family outings, long car trips, and, of course, in our lunchboxes.

I appreciate that they are dishwasher safe (top rack), are healthier than using plastic containers for food storage, and that I don’t have to spend money buying plastic baggies or lunch containers.

They are stylish, with a simple design that appeals to grown-ups as well as kids. The lids of the LunchBots are bright and colorful with a non-VOC finish. The lids fit tightly on the containers, too (though I wouldn’t use them for liquid storage).

The Lunch Skins are made from a German fabric that is certified as food safe in the US and Europe.  They are hand-sewn, well made, durable and bpa, lead, and phthalate free.  I may never buy plastic baggies again!

I would use it to pack picnic lunches for my boys and me…

  8. My son is only one but his favorite lunch is a whole wheat flatbread with spinach artichoke hummus. I would use these containers to pack snacks for us and for his lunch when he gets old enough for school!

  9. Jennifer says:

These containers and lunchskins look GREAT! Currently I have one lunch wrap-type product that I use over and over again, but would love to have some more on hand. The design on these are way more hip too! Let’s see, favorite lunch item … when my 8 yr. old gets tired of boring old sandwiches, he likes to have an all-snack lunch where I pack him lots of “little” healthy snacks that all add up to one meal, like cheese, crackers, fruit (dried and/or fresh), yogurt, carrots and dip, and of course some sort of little dessert!

  10. Deb Pederson says:

Excellent! The boy-child is starting kindergarten this year! What a great product for both him and daddy to use to package their lunches. My son’s favorite lunch is cheese & mayo sandwich.

  11. Jessica says:

Pitas with peanut butter and fruit. We’d use them for picnics and the beach!

  19. AnnMarie says:

I’d use these in about 2 months, as my daughter is heading off to Kindergarten! I don’t know her favorite lunch….last month she still liked salads and peas but this week she hates them. She currently likes peanut butter, but I’m not sure that will stick around till the container is empty. She hasn’t seemed to ever stop liking bread at least!

  21. Sarah O says:

Still in the cheerios and diced veggies stage for my kiddo, but I am sure this prize would grow with him.

  22. Lisa Carroll says:
  23. My 17 mo. old just started a new school where he has to bring his lunch everyday for the first time. So far, veggie stuffed quesadillas are the biggest hit. We could really use the lunch containers as he is currently taking an old lunch box of mine.

  24. I subscribe via google reader

  25. My daughter won’t touch bread, so this would be perfect for the cold pasta salads she likes to take, or salad!

  29. unfortunately, my kids change their minds on their favorite lunch item each day . . . one day they beg for plums and the next day i buy a bunch and then, mysteriously, no one likes plums around here. oh well!
i would love to win the lunch set, we have some ec0-friendly, reusable lunch stuff now, but with 4 kiddos (out of 6) in school this fall we could always use more!
    thanks so much!

  31. My favorite lunch item for my kids is shaped melon. They love getting little star and heart shaped watermelon and cantaloupe! How would I use these: I would add them to our collection of bento containers. It would be a fun addition. Plus, all I have is plastic, so the stainless would be a nice upgrade!

  32. I follow in my Google Reader! Sorry, I am not a Twitterer. :-(

  33. My children often take pasta for lunch, we currently use disposable/reusable containers, but they have a great track-record for not losing containers so far.

  38. My daughter Sarah, favorite lunch, PIZZA of course… is there anything else? in life she loves it cold or hot . I am thnakful I like I make it homemade… Linda and Sarah

  39. Gabrielle says:

My daughter is a huge fan of cheese and fruit. She would eat pretty much any combination of the two any chance she gets. I have forgone plastic bags some time ago, but am always using plastic storage containers. Would love to move away from them.

  40. My daughter loves tomato avocado sandwiches! She would eat them all day long! Which makes me happy! I love the reusable things!!

  41. I love Simple kids! I have been subscribing through my reader forever!!

  42. I have been a newer subscriber to Simple Kids in Google Reader and I it! I would put anything in those bags and containers–I especially love that the containers will actually keep the sandwich looking like a sandwich by the time that they eat it!

  43. These items are so very nice and I would just love to add them to our lunch supplies, since we pack two lunches most every school day. Our favorite lunches tend to be sandwiches. On cold winter days mac and cheese in a thermos is tops.

  44. My girl loves strawberries and chicken nuggets. Odd combo, but she’s only 1! I’d probably use the kit for us when we are out for the day.

My kids love guacamole and tortillas. My older child has food allergies, so I have to take/send food EVERYWHERE with her, and these would come in soooo handy.

  47. My daughter loves beans and cheese. Any type of bean, but black beans or kidney beans in particular. When we go on playdates or even trips I try to pack as many non-prepackaged food as possible. These containers and skins would be perfect for her! She’s only one, but they’ll still be great when she heads of to school in a few years! I also pack my husband’s lunch every day and these would really help in that department, too!
