I've got two of the things you mentioned all wrapped in one. I combined some precious pictures (of my sister's) with some inspiring quotes to create a new Sunday feature that just makes me so very happy. I've never done anything on my blog that I come back to and read as much as this. (In fact, I've enjoyed matching quotes to her pictures so much that I have posts written up and scheduled all the way through March.) I also did a fun little project... drizzled some cooked sugar in the shape of Christmas trees to hang in the window as decorations.

I just stumbled upon this blog through a link and i had to giggle when i saw the picture of the cookies because they look just like the ones my 3 yo daughter and i made today. Hope u don't mind me sharing a thought:

I was challenged today to make a choice between perfectionism or simplicity shared with my young daughter. That pedantic monster within me wanted to make sure that all the cookies were decorated evenly and tastefully, but my sweet little girl was having a ball as her pink icing covered fingers generously threw sprinkles all over the cookies, bench and floor. At the end of the creation, we were both sticky and sugary and the cookies didn't bear the faintest resemblance to the Martha Stewart ones that inspired us, but I was reminded of a valuable lesson of what really matters in life. Perfect cookies or a happy little girl filled with fun memories with her mummy.

I am thankful for these simple and messy blessings.

I wrote a post about the combination of a three year old, strawberries and melted chocolate. The experience gave me a good laugh, and certainly took the edge off some pre-Christmas stress:
