Giveaway: ecourse Simplicity Parenting Filtering Module from Bliss Beyond Naptime

Did you enjoy Kathy Stowell‘s guest post yesterday on ways to communicate with your kids using less talking?  I know that I really appreciated her perspective and her advice gave me some good takeaways to apply to my daily life with the kids.

{This giveaway is now closed.  Thanks!}

I’m excited to share some neat news:  Kathy is going to be giving one Simple Kids reader a space in her upcoming Simplicity Parenting Filtering Module ecourse!

Valued at $87, this four week workshop will run from May 1st to May 31st and cover these topics (from Kathy’s website):

  • How to tap into and remember the values you once held for your family
  • How to design the changes to the quantity and quality of information your children are exposed to (including adult conversations) so you may live closer to these ideals
  • What your and your partner’s dominant parenting styles are
  • Tools to deal with the meltdowns that media, screen time and parental over involvement might trigger
  • Support from a like-minded community to share your struggles and celebrate your simplicity triumphs with
  • Practical ways to unplug
  • Meditations on how to envision and live into your less psychically polluted space and love the times we’re living in
  • Communication skills to build with your kids, partners and other loved ones

Sounds great, right?

  10. Jennifer B. says:

What a cool opportunity. My husband and I are always looking for helpful and practical advice/guidance on articulating our goals for simplified approach to parenting. Having support in navigating those goals would be a huge blessing!

  11. Carol F in New Mexico says:

This sounds like exactly what we need to help us be better parents to our 7-year old. Thanks for the giveaway.

  12. This is so pertinent to what my husband and I are talking about right now. We feel like we have gotten a little off track with the intention in our parenting and need to get back to our core values, and that means making some decisions about our everyday lives.

  13. I was just discussing with my husband yesterday that my current schedule lacks margin…the space we all need so we are just rushing through life. I think this course could help me refocus and achieve this. Also, the point in yesterday’s post regarding the time and practice it takes to make changes in your parenting style has been running through my mind. I agree…but find it hard to add these habits to my parenting. I would love outside support to make those changes.

  14. With 4 kids coming up the ranks, any practical wisdom for keeping everyone happy and mama sane is appreciated!

  15. I would LOVE to win this ecourse. I had gotten into a bad habit of using screen time too much during the “survival season” of motherhood with a new baby…that baby is now 2 and I would like to get back to “normal”. Thanks!

  16. would love this…..parenting styles sounds interesting

  17. Melissa B says:

This course would be perfect for our family right now. We are going through a transition that includes a move away from extended family and me going back to work full time. Our 8 yo and 6 yo have heard a lot of adult talk about money, housing, etc. I read Simplicity Parenting and loved it but am struggling to live it, so the course would help me actually implement it.

  18. I have read the book and have always wanted to attend a workshop. This would be great to win!

  19. i totally need help on the communication front!

  20. Adelle F. says:

This sounds like a wonderful course and just exactly what I could use in my life right now. I’ve been suffering from a little bit of mom burnout.

  21. Being a homeschooling mom of 4 I find myself easily overwhelmed. I would love to bring back some more simplicity into my life.

  22. I love the book Simplicity Parenting and would love to get to talk through the concepts with others!

  23. Would love to win this to use with my own kids and students:)

  24. I would love to win this because I am always looking for ways to grow as a mama and connect with my girls in this fast paced world.

  25. I was just looking at this yesterday but decided we are not at a place financially where I can make this a priority! Lately I feel like we are drifting further away from the ideals and goals I’ve always had when it comes to family and raising children. I feel like I know what I want and what is best for our family, but day after day I struggle with how to put it into practice and make it all come together. I know it’s possible, I just need some help and some focus!

  26. I want to parent intentionally…they are only little for a short time!

  27. I feel myself drifting too far from my goals and ideals as a parent. A course might help me move in the right direction again.
Julia´s latest post: Eco-Friendly Craft and Game: Reusing Plastic Eggs to Make Flowers

  28. I bought Kim John Payne’s book this past Christmas, but haven’t gotten to really dive into it yet. I find that I drift into the future and the worries that come with that lead to anxiety. I want to be more present and enjoy the now!

  29. Loretta S. says:

I read the book about a year ago and it dramatically changed how things worked here. But, as time moves on, a refresher course would help realigning the family just in time for #4 to join us in June.

  30. This sounds like an awesome giveaway! I would love to learn more about my husband’s and my parenting styles…and any tips to get away from screen time are always a big bonus in my book :-)

  31. I’d love to win this. Just had another baby after 11 years. It feels like we are starting over and I definitely need some guidance!

  32. Stephanie S says:

This looks like a great course! My kids are 4 and 1 and I any guidance we can get as parents is always appreciated.

  33. Katie T. says:

I would love help in simplifying our family’s life and weeding out much of the noise we encounter each day.

  34. I’m so new at this…the word “simplicity” sounds like heaven.

  35. Michelle says:

We need this because we’re drowning. The eldest is having anxiety attacks, the middle has become aggressive and the baby is terror. I’ve read Simplicity Parenting a couple of times and have tried implementing the suggestions but have had little success making any real change. We specifically need help with screen time, it’s totally out of hand. Thanks for the giveaway!!

  36. Oh, I would love this ecourse right now and if money weren’t an issue right now I’d be signing up. I read Simplicity Parenting 2 years ago and this would be a great refresher for me. Thanks for the giveaway!

  37. Pick me! Pick me!
I’m normally not so jumping to be chosen, but really… we’re going through a total rough patch with my four-year-old son. I actually sat down at my blog a little bit ago and typed the words… “Have you ever felt like you were royally screwing up?” but I deleted it and told myself we all go through this, and not something I wanted to throw out there to my readers. I love my son, and I know this is just a season.
We’ve been very intentional in our raising our son (we have two by the way, but our other is 7 months old), but lately we’ve been at a loss. I find myself buried in my parenting books and googling for new ideas, all the while my husband and I clash in our own opinion of what is best. Parenting is ever changing, just when you think you’ve got it figured out, they change the game. I’m also a bit apprehensive about the course, only because I know we all share different opinions on parenting, but I do know through this site and it’s sister sites (is that right?) that most opinions line up with my ideals and morals.

    Thanks for the chance :)

  38. I began my a simple parenting journey when my oldest was a toddler. He is now 9 and I am having a hard time parenting him without meltdowns lately I could really use a refresher on how to get back to simplicity and reconnect peacefully and encouragingly.

  39. This is exactly what I’m working on right now and any little guidance would be appreciated!

  40. My husband and I are in constant battle with unplugging, slowing down, and reconnecting with each other and our two boys. Building healthy relationships and a close family is our main focus. Having something to not only guide us but to also hold us accountable would be a blessing.

  41. emily falke says:

This would really be a wonderful thing for me because I feel like I am struggling to let go of distractions and just BE wholeheartedly with my kids during the day.

  42. This would be amazing and timely for us! I think when we get tired, we harp on our spirited little one and it’s miserable for everyone. We are in one of those stages right now where a couple of sick spells have brought everyone’s patience down and it just seems like there is too much battling of wills – when all I really want it teamwork and better relationships again. Thanks for the chance to win!

  43. I would love to win this ecourse. As a mam who strives to raise her children in love and understanding and patience always, I feel that every now and again it is wise to refresh my mommy knowledge. I like to have new ideas and new perspectives from mama’s who have a system that really works for them and others. I would be truly thrilled!

  44. I need to get past the shouting! My boys are eight and nearly seven and I am finding this stage a little more challenging.

  45. Catherine says:

I could benefit so much from this e-course. We’re jumping into the world of homeschooling, and I could really use an overhaul of our family dynamic to ensure a peaceful household.

  46. The parenting styles sounds very interesting. We tend to want the same outcome, but we have VERY different ideas of how to get there…
