We discovered "Muncha" at the library this spring. I agree that it is a great book! It's not always easy to find new picture books that are of such high quality.

Sounds like a great book! We got one in a cereal box that was a zoo story (can't put my hands on it to give you the name). It was actually a great story and we really enjoyed it.

Sounds like a winner! I'll have to add that to my gardening books. Whenever we talk about gardening, I do love reading The Empty Pot by Demi. It teaches about what seeds need to grow, but more importantly, it has a fantastic message about telling the truth. Plus, it's beautiful. It's nice to have some eye-candy during story time!

We like The Curious Garden, too. I haven't heard of The Gardener. I'll have to look that one up!

This book sounds like it would be so fun for reading out loud, Emily! Thanks for the review :-)

(and a cool way to sneak in a language arts lesson, too)

The Curious Garden sounds like a good one, Diana.

And, once again, my library list grows :-)

We also love Muncha!... and The Curious Garden. I'd also add The Gardener by Sarah Stewart to the list. Wonderful book with beautiful illustrations.

I had forgotten about Muncha!... We'll have to check that one out again with the garden going in this weekend.

My favorite garden book would have to be The Curious Garden by Peter Brown -- if I am remembering correctly, it may have won a Caldecott Honor this year. We loved it for the transformation one little patch of garden made in a whole city. Beautiful book!
