When I was a teenager and had more time I made curtains for my sister with hand-crocheted lace trim. Thankfully my mother saved them and now they hang in my daughters’ room.

I love making quilts. It is hard for me to actually finish them but when I do it feels so great. My grandma was a quilt maker and so are my aunts so I love the tradition part too.

One of my favorite projects I’ve done is a mural I worked on with my husband for our baby’s room. It’s a cherry blossom tree (). We did it while pregnant (with safe paint) and really had a great time sharing in the creation.

I also love quilting and am excited to make a quilt for my girl when she gets old enough to choose the fabrics.

as a new ex-pat mom in new zealand, and just receiving an old sewing machine as a gift, i’d love inspiration to make things for my baby who is just nearing the 7 month mark. i’d love to attempt to sew the alphabet for her as stuffed learning toys from her old baby clothes… and we’d be thrilled to get a copy of this book, that’s not available overseas yet!

I made two baby quilts for my first daughter, but never finished them until my second was almost a year old. The past nine months have been filled with daily snuggles of these quilts that makes me happy. A store bought blanket would never have done that! Of course, now I am kicking myself that I didn’t finish them sooner! I’ve got to get busy before the next one comes in December!
