We’re celebrating the big changes going on at Simple Living Media this week with a Giveaway! Each blog in the SLM family has a fabulous prize package with ONE lucky winner per blog. Each of you will have up to two chances to win per blog. Updated: make that THREE chances to win!
This Giveaway is now closed. Thank you for entering!
Check back for a winner soon.
I’m so excited that a Simple Kids reader is going to win prizes from:
1. Blue Yonder Ranch
Stefani of Blue Yonder Ranch is also a contributor to Simple Homeschool. She has written a fun and engaging series of ebooks based on the seasons. “Food For Families: Food For Thought” is the motto of the Book of Days.
Readers are treated to inspiration for creating together, seasonal experiments, recipes, and encouragement to reach out and make a difference. Each issue is chock full of ideas for families who are interested in slowing down and spending time together learning, playing, and enjoying nature.
As the video on the Blue Yonder website says, these days do not last forever … but the memories will. I am confident that the winner of these ebooks will be so pleased with the ideas and possibilities they hold.
The winner will receive a Subscription to the Book Of Days.
2. Hearth Song
Hearth Song‘s motto is “toys you’ll feel good about giving” but I think you’ll agree with me that their Multi-Play Soccer Station would be pretty nice to receive! More than just a soccer goal, this station includes a target net so your little super stars can practice their aiming and trapping skills.
This versatile set could be used for football practice, too. The Hearth Song website suggests it would be great for baseball pitching practice and also for bean bag toss games. Kids will love playing with the Soccer Station: parents will love that it is a product that can store away simply in its own carrying bag. For ages three and up, it comes with the carrying bag, soccer ball, stakes, and pump (adult assembly required).
The winner will receive a Multi-Play Soccer Station.
3. SouleMama
Amanda Blake Soule is one of my favorite authors and is probably one of yours, too. Her blog is inspiring and her writing has influenced my family in many ways, including handwork ideas, family art time, and practical tips on creating magical moments in childhood.
Her books are so beloved in my house that I’m not sure they have ever actually been on the bookshelf – they are always in use! Amanda has generously offered to give copies of both of her books to a Simple Kids reader so that they can become well-loved and used often in your home, too.
The winner will receive a copy of The Creative Family and Handmade Home
.

We love going for walks to the park together, and going to the farmer’s market!

We have movie night. Complete with admission tickets, a concession stand and a ticket taker. We turn on the surround sound and enjoy the show. But be careful! Hold on to your ticket stub, because if the usher comes by with his flashlight and you don’t have your ticket, you’ll be thrown out of the theatre!
It’s so fun to watch the kids “buy” their tickets and snacks and enjoy the show
I like going on on picnics with the family and scenic drives.
Thanks for the giveaway

Some of our family’s favorite ways to spend time together are sitting around the table talking over a good meal or going for a walk or hike together.
We love to spend time outside. At the park, beach, or farmer’s market in the summer; in the snow and on our backyard ice rink in the winter! We love taking advantage of Michigan’s seasons and natural resources!
I subscribe too!

What is your family’s favorite way to spend time together?
Considering my daughter’s still pretty young (not quite two), our favorite way to spend time is just piled on the sofa together and snuggling.
I subscribed! Thanks for the additional entry chance!

My family and I love to unwind by having family movie nights. We all cuddle on the couch under blankies, and watch all day/night long. Love it!
We have a 14 month old and a baby due in April so our favorite time is “wrestling” together as a family in the evenings. So simple but it’s time together where we are all interacting. Our little girl loves the combined attention of Mom and Dad at the same time!

Since we homeschool, we are not forced to be rushed out of the door each morning, so our family sits down together for breakfast each morning. Everyone is well-rested and the conversations are priceless!

Sorry. I didn’t answer the question. My family’s favorite way to spend together is family game nights…dinner and games together! We do this consistently in the summer and each week a different family member/group is assigned meal, dessert, or games.
I’ve commented about this website on my private blog: markandmegherring.blogspot.com
We love playing family games together, and just dancing around to music (my kids are very young)
We like working in the yard, going on walks, and going to festivals together.

We love to read together, all snuggled up on the couch or on one of the kids’ beds. What precious, quiet, close time!
And I subscribe in google reader!
My kids go to public school, and to supplement their reading I read classic chapter books to them at night as a family. It is something they have all grown to look forward to before bed.
We love working in the yard and taking care of the animals.
We do a lot of reading together, and we love to walk through the neighborhood and park with toddler and dog in tow.
We’re all into games right now. Banana-grams, Blink, TossUp, Scrabble, chess and Hi-Ho-Cheerio are popular at the moment. (Can you tell I have diverse ages @ my house?)
I subscribed – using my rss reader.
I subscribed yesterday. I hope that counts!
We love to spend time together hiking. We soak in God’s creation, restoring our souls; we can chat as we go (we never choose a path SO hard that there can’t be time to talk…), all together or in little groups; or we can be silent, cultivating our inner life. We so enjoy being together this way, it really gives us an identity as a family, as a unit…
Since we have gotten a Wii for Christmas, we like compete against each other. We do this at least once a day after the kids get home from school.
We homeschool, so we have TONS of activities that we love to do together. Read Alouds, movie time, nature walks, etc.

Currently, our family is two and a half (baby is due next month!) and our favorite things to do together are cook, play games and hang out outdoors.
We love exploring new nature paths!
We love to travel together and explore new places. When we’re at home, though, we like to build with Legos. It’s all boys in my house, so those blocks are everywhere!
