Note:  I’m a member of the Target Inner Circle and was given gift cards to use to facilitate this post.

Family movie night just got a little more simplified at our house, thanks to Target Ticket.   Target Ticket is Target’s new video download and rental service that allows you to buy, rent, download, and stream videos.

We were given a chance to give this new service a try and one lucky Simple Kids reader is going to win a chance to give Target Ticket a try, too!

Some of our favorites things about Target Ticket:

  • No monthly fees or subscriptions!
  • You rent or purchase the movies and purchase the TV shows you want (so no disappearing movies or TV shows, as happens sometimes with other services).
  • Parental controls and common sense ratings.
  • There’s a Target Kids Picks feature where you can view recommendations by age.
  • You can organize your movies and TV shows into different lists.
  • Right now you can create a free account and get 10 free downloads.

From the website:

Target Ticket is currently available to stream on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device, and available to download on your personal PC, Android, or iOS device. In future releases the App will be become available for Xbox, Roku, as well as Smart TVs and Blu-Ray Players.  The download feature to the Mac platform will soon be available as well.

The Giveaway

One Simple Kids reader will win a $50 gift card to use on Target Ticket.

To Enter:  leave a comment with your family’s current favorite movie.

Please note that due to licensing fees and agreements, Target Ticket is only available within the United States so this giveaway is for readers in the USA only.  Thank you!

This giveaway will end at 11:59 EST on Friday October 11, 2013. Good luck!

  16. Cars movies

  17. We are loving old Disney live action movies: The Happiest Millionaire, Snowball Express, The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Absent-minded Professor, The Gnomemobile, etc.

  18. We don’t watch a lot of movies as a family because my oldest son is really sensitive and easily gets scared. (We had to turn off the first Curious George movie due to the massive amount of crying and hysterics when George was put on the boat to be sent back to the jungle) But they really enjoy animal documentaries so when we all sit down to watch a movie together that is what it usually is. Our favorite right now is African Cats by Disney.

  19. Hard choice since we LOVE movies at our house. If we had to pick a current favorite it would be the Avengers…but that’s subject to change in the next few days.

  20. My kids love Tangled, Cinderella, and Rise of the Guardians. :)

  21. We love Disney movies…especially Tangled!

  22. Definitely Avengers fans here!

  23. My little one is very into Curious George. It’s surprisingly suspenseful when seen from a 3 year old’s perspective.

  24. Gretchen D says:

My oldest son has us watching anything with Jimmy Stewart and we are loving it as a family.

  25. The old Disney animation of Robin Hood!

  26. My girls and I can watch Cinderella again and again and again!

  27. Toy Story, and The Wizard of Oz.

  28. Cars 2! I have four young boys :)

  29. We love watching Brave or Mulan together!

  30. It seems we haven’t made it to the full-length feature at our house (that two and under set just can’t sit that long!), but we watch episodes of Kipper or Pingu frequently for “movie night.” And then off to a normal bedtime! :)

  31. Lemonade Mouth is a big favorite here :)

  32. My daughter loves all of the Tinkerbell movies.

  33. Our favorite family movie is The Last Mimzy. Probably the only movie that we can all agree on.

  34. My son has been enjoying the Ice Age and Toy Story series from the library!

  35. My daughter is in love with Tangled. My son on the other hand is about ready to hit himself with a frying pan if he has to watch it one more time. He prefers Rise of the Guardians

  36. Daughter just turned 5 and she loves Cars. It’s Mater mania here

  37. My kiddos are currently Princess Bride fans because that’s what we watched for movie night on Saturday. :-)

  38. Mater the greater and Stuart Little

  39. Tangled!

  40. Our favorite movie to watch as a family would probably be Mary Poppins.

  41. we watch karate kid a lot at our home plus teen beach movie

  42. Lisa Brown says:

    Our current favorite: Planes

  43. Elf!

  44. This is awesome! Our favorite movie, hands down, is UP. Even though it’s not “current,” it’s such a cute movie!

  45. What a hard question?! Every time we see a movie, I’ll ask my kids, “What do you like better? ______ or _______” going through all the movies I know they like. Usually Wreck It Ralph or The Croods is always up near the top.

  46. Right now my son is totally into Star Wars! We have watched all the originals and are not on the prequels.
Shereen Cook´s latest post: On the existence of God…and dragons

  47. We’re in a real Jungle Book phase. I love it from when I was growing up and my three year old loves all the music. It’s a classic.

  48. All of the Land Before Time movies!

  49. We love Swiss Family Robinson.
