On Friday I shared a few of my thoughts on the new year and new starts. After coming clean about our dependence on toaster waffles, yesterday I asked SK facebook friends if they would help hold me accountable this coming week to fixing a healthier breakfast for the kids.
No fancy challenge or anything like that, just simply checking in each morning and reporting on what our kids had for breakfast. If you’re looking for some healthy breakfast inspiration, please join us on the facebook page.
And, friends? I feel it must be said that if you are currently in a toaster waffle season of life, there’s no need to find yourself feeling guilty, okay? We all do what we have to do and there are certainly larger things in life to worry about than a few shortcuts in the kitchen. Be gentle on yourselves. I’m just ready to make a few changes and I thought it would be helpful to make myself publicly accountable.
Also? Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you local folks who gave me some fantastic ideas in the comments on Friday’s post for factory tours in the midwest. We’re making a list and doing some research. Hooray for fun family travel!
Friday was a really long day. A really long day. Mid-afternoon I gave in and declared it officially the weekend and we watched a movie, popped popcorn, and I had a smoothie and knitting break. We just needed a family do-over.
It turned the day right around and the rest of the weekend has been a pleasant and cozy one. I hope things have been lovely at your home, too.
Have a terrific Sunday, friends!

Just checked out ‘Bring back Sunday dinner’.
Awesome.
This year – my focus is homemaking. I’m studying up on how to do all this here….in my very own walls. The ‘bring back Sunday dinner’ series – it’s perfect for me as I learn about serving in my home.
Thanks for the link.
Blessings,
Kate

Wow! Thanks for sharing my link. I can not believe the awesome company I get to keep!
We had a few weeks of boxed cereal which is not normal for us. But sometimes, you have to do what you need to do to stay sane and happy!
Happy New Year!
