Kelly, I almost didn't buy Fuzzy Yellow Ducklings because I thought it wouldn't survive a baby, but nearly 4 years later it's still going strong (and has always been available to my sons to pull out and read). My younger son is a bit rougher, but he hasn't torn the pages. I think it is because the flaps are fold out pages, not flaps that are attached to the page afterward.

I don't have either one of these books and they both sound great! I'm a little afraid my 14 month old will tear off the flaps of Fuzzy, Yellow Ducklings (he's trying to learn to be gentle:) but we'll just have to keep this one in a safe, special spot. He's really into shapes right now, so we'll have to check this one out. Thanks for both suggestions!

Amy, I'm sure my daughter would love to paint with lots of big orange splots! The trouble is keeping it on the paper ;) Great art- literature connection!

Oooh, I love the sound of the orange splot, will be hunting for a copy of this one as I haven't come across it before, even in my teaching days.

Both books look fun! My 17-month old loves books with texture and bright colors, and she adores books about animals. The Big Orange Splot is perfect for my 1st grader.

Both of those look great. I think my 10-month-old would like the duckling book!
